It started because of a tragedy. . .

Our Story

Fatima’s Children was born out of the story of a North African family whom we love dearly. The wife, Fatima for whom Fatima’s Children is named, was expecting a baby. When she started going into labor prematurely, she went to the local public hospital. Upon arrival, she lay down on the floor, and there gave birth to her tiny baby boy. He desperately needed medical help. The hospital workers looked at the baby, and then explained to the parents that it looked like their premature son was going to die. The hospital could not spare its limited equipment and needed to use it to help a stronger baby live. The following day the husband went to friends and family begging for money so they could take their son to a private clinic. After searching and searching, the funds came, but too late. While the father was trying to obtain the money, the baby passed away.

Jillian, the director of Fatima’s Children, was especially affected by their story and started examining options for ways to make a difference. Because of her passion for helping others, she started Fatima’s Children the following summer in 2016. It was a difficult process to get it off the ground. But with determination, hard work, and donations from people like you, we are still reaching out and helping families that are in the same situation as our friend, Fatima.

Our Mission

We want to see premature babies’ lives saved. We want to see their families touched. We want to see North African families reached by their fellow North Africans. We want to see God’s love being shared to these families during a very difficult time in their lives.

That’s why we look for families with premature babies. We help them buy their medical expenses. We attempt to be a support to them as they are in and out of the hospital. Once the baby is discharged, we visit them in their homes and continue to share the love of God with them. God is using this organization here in North Africa, and we are excited to see it continue.

“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.”
